the Design Museum exhibit:
Massimo Vignelli
For this project I was tasked with creating the promotional materials for a museum exhibit,
and I chose Massimo Vignelli as the subject
of the exhibit. I chose Vignelli as the subject because I've always liked his work. As for the reason of picking the Design Museum for the location, we were given the option of there or the Cooper Hewitt and I felt it made more sense because of Vignelli's Italian nationality.

One of the first promotions I designed was the
tile on the homepage of the Design Museum's website and the informational page with details about the exhibit that it leads to.

Another piece I designed to promote the
exhibit was a poster that could be located
around the city with the date of the exhibit.
I wanted the design of the promotional
materials to pay tribute to Vignelli's work and decided to base the designs off of the poster
he created for Knoll International.

But, before I created the poster based off of the Knoll International work I first attempted to show off a set of mugs that Vignelli designed, and also basing my poster off of the work he did for the NYC Subway system, but I just couldn't get those ideas to reach their full potential.

The final piece for the museum was
a brochure that visitors could take with
them when they went to the exhibit, which
I wanted to match the poster. I decided on a simple two sided brochure though as opposed to a tri-fold because I fell not
as many people are interested in
reading through a full brochure, so
this is intended to work more so as
a keepsake of the exhibit while still providing details of Vignelli's work.
